There is a question that stylists hear over and over from their curly hair clients: How do I control the FRIZZ!!?? Don't think that, "Well, it just the way it is." NO! You control your hair, don't let the frizz control you!

Over the years, I have become a curly hair expert. Here are some easy tips on what I tell my curly hair clients:
1.) NO ONE PRODUCT IS GOING TO MAGICALLY FIX YOUR HAIR I recommend Redken's Curvaceous collection of products. Each product is specially formulated to bring out the best in every curl. I won't bore you with the science of it, but you can go to their website to check out the details of the line: REDKEN CURVACEOUS
They have also added FRIZZ DISMISS and NO BLOW DRY products to their line which work great for keeping those curls under control. The best thing to do is to ask your stylist. Chances are, just like make up, you will need a base product plus others that will all work simultaneously to keep your curls looking your best. And since your hair isn't like anyone else's your combination of products will be different than another's.
2.) YOU NEED A FULL AT HOME HAIR CARE REGIMENT
Use the a Redken Curvaceous shampoo and conditioner, along with one of their reconditioning
treatments once or twice a week, depending on the dryness, texture and curl of your hair. This will get you off to a great start fighting frizz! To further combat frizz, schedule monthly conditioning treatments at the salon. We do Redken Chemistry treatments customized to your hair. BUT, let's be realistic. You probably don't have the time to go into the salon every month just for a treatment. That's why at home reconditions are so important. Then get the deluxe treatment every time that you get your haircut.

3.) HAIRCUTS
We recommend a hair cut every 6-12 weeks. The texture and curl of your hair will determine the exact time between cuts. Split ends are a MAJOR factor in frizz. So to keep them under control, and keep up with getting rid of them!

That is it! If you are anything like my curly hair clients, you are willing to do ANYTHING to keep that frizz under control. Following these 3 easy tips will get you on your way. Know that it will take time, it will not happen overnight! Keep up with your at home treatments and use styling products geared toward curly hair as well. I can't suggest which would be right for you without getting my hands into your hair, so you may have to experiment a little.
REDKEN.com has a ton of great tips and videos for you to check out.
Lastly but maybe most importantly, find a stylist that knows how to cut curly hair. 80 percent of stylist don't have a clue. I use totally different techniques when cutting curly hair. The best way to find that perfect stylist is to find a woman with stunning curly hair that has curl and texture like yours. Ask her what stylist she sees. Chances are she gets your pain and will gladly recommend you to them. My curly girls sing my praises, loudly. Every one I see brings in all of their curly hair friends and strangers.
TOGETHER we will fight the FRIZZ!!!
